Dora Dee was born on August 17th, 1924.1 Dora Dee's father was Joseph David Mitchell and her mother was Elsie Lee Knox. Her paternal grandparents were David Franklin Mitchell and Dora Ida Rushing; her maternal grandparents were Edward Knox and Sarah Phillips. She had two brothers and two sisters, named Horace David, Frank Knox, Audie Anna and Foy Lee. She was the youngest of the five children.-
