Mary Magdalene was born on October 20th, 1888 in Curtis, Coffee County, Alabama.1 Mary Magdalene's father was Joshua English Grimes and her mother was Charity Adeline Foley. Her paternal grandparents were John William Grimes and Julia Ann Garrett. She had two brothers and five sisters, named John William, Joshua Dewey, Lizzie Belle, Lena Mizell, Nolie Lee, Lucy Frances and Estelle Julia. She was the fourth oldest of the eight children. She died at the age of 93 in February 1982. She was buried in New Ebenezer Cemetery, Coffee County, Alabama.1 1 -
