Hepsabeth Grimes 
Hepsabeth was born in 1815 in North Carolina.1 Hepsabeth's father was John Grimes and her mother was Catharine Frederick. Her paternal grandparents were James Grimes and Sarah Winders. She had four brothers and five sisters, named James Haywood, John William, Felix Kenan, Robert Franklin, Anne Elizabeth, Mary Catharine, Martha Jane, Sarah Evalina and Angeline. She was the oldest of the ten children.
