Dessie Ree was born on November 2nd, 1913 in Milligan, Walton County, Florida.1 Dessie Ree's father was Joel Marlin Gordon and her mother was Mary Nancy Garrett. Her maternal grandparents were William Thorton Garrett and Sarah Elizabeth Bush. She had two brothers and three sisters, named Alton Herman, Billy Gean, Euline, May and Norma Faye. She was the oldest of the six children. She died at the age of 86 on March 31st, 2000 in Crestview, Florida.1 -
