Eliza Ann was born in 1873.1 Eliza Ann's father was Charles W. Gavin and her mother was Mary Ann Garrett. Her maternal grandparents were William Walter Garrett and Nancy Sansom. She had seven brothers and six sisters, named Thomas William, Stephen Blocker, Samuel Jefferson, Robert M., John Hiram L. B., Charles W., Jr., Oscar, Nancy Elizabeth, Lucy Ann, Sophia Ann, Mary E., Frances E. and Elie B.. She was the fourth youngest of the fourteen children.-
