Jesse H. was born on January 20th, 1880 in Horry Co., SC.1 Jesse H.'s father was Cyrus B. Dawsey and his mother was Margaret Anne Jenerette. His maternal grandparents were Samuel Thomas Jenerette and Eliza Johnson. He had six brothers and two sisters, named Bishop Cyrus, Albert, Ellis, Harley, Watus, Wilson, Agnes and Freddie. Jesse H. Dawsey, 87, a retired farmer of Aynor, died April 13 at a local
hospital. Mr. Dawsey was born in the Methodist Rehobeth section of Horry
County, a son of the late Cyrus and Margaret Jenerett Dawsey. He was a
founder and charter member of the Aynor Methodist. Surviving are; five
sons, Wesley Dawsey of Charleston, W. Barney Dawsey, Hiram Dawsey and
Hubert Dawsey, all of Aynor, and Wofford Dawsey of Gastonia NC, four
daughters, Mrs. Warren Dudley of Rt. 3, Galivents Ferry, Mrs. S.G. Whaley
of Charlotte NC, and Mrs. Robert Ambrose of Aynor; one brother Bishop
Cyrus B. Dawsey of Columbia; 46 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren and
two great great grandchildren.
