In 1744, JAMES bought land on the corner of Walnut and Third in
Wilmington, N. C. He left Clover Hill, 550 acres of land, to his sons
Samuel and PETER. He gave the names of his children and his wife, MARY,
in his Will of Oct. 12, 1761. JAMES and MARY POITEVINT had the following
children;
6. I. James Poitevint (b. 1_13_1748; d. 4_1785)
II. Samuel Poitevint (b. 1_24_1751; d. 1798) m. Mary (Bloodworth?).
III. Ann Poitevint (b. 10_7_1752; d. 12_24_1821) married James
Bloodworth (b. 1739; d. 1799), brother of Timothy Bloodworth. Ann and
James' children were Timothy, James, Poitevent and Ann Bloodworth.
Robert, Milton and Alfred Bloodworth were James' children by a previous
marriage.
7. IV. PETTOR POITEVINT (PETER) (b. 8_2_1754; d. C_1820)
V. Susannah Poitevint (b. 10_28_1756) married Hodge (Roger) Larkins.
VI. Isaac Poitevint (b. 11_9_1758; d. 1820) married Elizabeth Treadwell,
daughter of John Treadwell, Sr. Their children were Ann, Mary, Margaret
and ? Poitevint. Mary married John Robinson. Her sister married Alex
Wilson.
VII. Joseph Poitevint (b. 10_1_1761) never married.
Note: After JAMES' death, MARY married Thomas Corbett
