Her paternal grandparents were Asa Oliver Culver and Nancy Jane Pody; her maternal grandparents were Zabed Green and Susan A. (?). She had six brothers and five sisters, named John Austin, Zabed Andrew, George Crockett, William Henry, Geames Alfred, Dudley Oliver, Amanda Alice, Roxie Ann, Cordy Deloney, Mary Emma and Theola.
