Roy W. was born on June 26th, 1894 in AL.1 Roy W.'s father was John Oscar Colley and his mother was Mary Della Ford. His maternal grandparents were John Wofford Ford and Jeffalonia Spradley. He had two sisters, and also a sibling of unknown gender named Hattie Mae, Sophia Esther and Infant. He was the second oldest of the four children.
