Claude Wesley was born on June 25th, 1905 in Lexington, Lee Co., TX.1 Claude Wesley's father was Salathiel S. Bownds and his mother was Anna Lou Spradley. His maternal grandparents were Bryant Eugene Spradley and Emmaline Todd. He had three brothers and four sisters, named William Bryant, Lee Roy, Luther Salathel, Emma Lee, Minnie Louis, India Lucile and Unknow. He joined the Navyabout 1930 and served four years in a submarine crew.
He married later and started farming again.
