Her maternal grandparents were Hugh "Magnus" Capet , Duke of France and Adelaide de Vermandois. She had three brothers and five sisters, named Waleran, Robert, Hugh, Elizabeth (Isabel), Aubreye, Adeline Newburgh, Amicade and Maud Alberade.
