Robert was born about 1104 in Normandy. Robert's father was Robert Robert , 1st Earl of Leicester/, Earl of Leicester/de Beaumont and his mother was Isabel Capet , Countess of Vermandois. His maternal grandparents were Hugh "Magnus" Capet , Duke of France and Adelaide de Vermandois. He had two brothers and six sisters, named Waleran, Hugh, Elizabeth (Isabel), Aubreye, Adeline Newburgh, Havoise, Amicade and Maud Alberade. He had two half-brothers and two half-sisters, named William, Reginald, Gundred and Ada. He died on April 5th, 1168. He was buried in St. Marys de Pre, Leicester, England.-
