Elica was born in 1004 in Schweinfurt, Unterfranken, Bavaria. Elica's father was Count Henry VON SCHWINFURT and her mother was Gerberge OF HENNEBURG. Her paternal grandparents were Berthold I VON BABENBURG and Heliksuinda VON WALBECK; her maternal grandfather was Otto II OF TULLFELD. She had a brother named Henry II. She had two half-brothers named Otto III Of Swabia and Henry Von Sullafeld.General Notes
Credited with the first unification of the country, convertedthe Danes to Christianity, and conquered Norway. After hisBaptism his fathers pagan tomb was transformed into a Christianplace of worship.
Introduced Christianity into Denmark, he had the famous Jellingrune stone erected in his parent memory. He was fatally woundedduring a rebellion by his son and successor, Sveng I.
