Adelaide OF THE BETUWE 
Adelaide was born in 1045. Adelaide's father was Count Eberhard OF THE BETUWE. Her paternal grandparents were Count Godizo OF THE BETUWE and Bertha. She was an only child. Adelaide is no longer alive.General Notes
Credited with the first unification of the country, convertedthe Danes to Christianity, and conquered Norway. After hisBaptism his fathers pagan tomb was transformed into a Christianplace of worship.
Introduced Christianity into Denmark, he had the famous Jellingrune stone erected in his parent memory. He was fatally woundedduring a rebellion by his son and successor, Sveng I.
Adelaide and Henry OF BRABANT were married in a religious ceremony in 1215. They had two sons and two daughters, named Godfrey I "The Bearded" Of Brabant, Henry III, Matilda and Ida.
