Giselbert I OF LUXEMBURG 
Giselbert I was born in 1005. Giselbert I's father was Count Frederick I OF LUXEMBURG and his mother was Countess Ermentrude VON GLEIBERG Irmtrud. His paternal grandparents were Count Siegfried IV Of Luxemburg DE CLEVES DE ALSACE and Edith DE LONGWY Hedwig; his maternal grandparents were Count Heribert Of Gleiberg & Kinziggau OF WETTERAU and Irmenrtrude VON AVALGAU. He had a brother and four sisters, named Frederic II Of Lorraine, Ermentrude, Otgive, Giselle and Jutta. He was the third youngest of the six children.General Notes
Credited with the first unification of the country, convertedthe Danes to Christianity, and conquered Norway. After hisBaptism his fathers pagan tomb was transformed into a Christianplace of worship.
Introduced Christianity into Denmark, he had the famous Jellingrune stone erected in his parent memory. He was fatally woundedduring a rebellion by his son and successor, Sveng I.
