Count Frederick I OF LUXEMBURG 
Frederick I was born in 0965 in Moselgau, France. Frederick I's father was Count Siegfried IV Of Luxemburg DE CLEVES DE ALSACE and his mother was Edith DE LONGWY Hedwig. His paternal grandparents were Count Wigeric Of Luxemburg VON AACHEN and Kunigunde DE FRANCIA; his maternal grandparents were Duke Eberhard IV Of Bavaria OF LOWER ALSACE (NORDGAU) and Luitgard OF TIERS. He had three sisters named Eve, Luitgarde and Jutta VON LUXEMBOURG. He was the second youngest of the four children.General Notes
Credited with the first unification of the country, convertedthe Danes to Christianity, and conquered Norway. After hisBaptism his fathers pagan tomb was transformed into a Christianplace of worship.
Introduced Christianity into Denmark, he had the famous Jellingrune stone erected in his parent memory. He was fatally woundedduring a rebellion by his son and successor, Sveng I.
They had two sons and four daughters, named Frederic II Of Lorraine, Giselbert I, Ermentrude, Otgive, Giselle and Jutta.
