Robert de Lumley , Sir Knight 
Robert de was born about 1357 in Little Lumley, Chester le Street, Durham, England. Robert de's father was Marmaduke de Lumley and his mother was Margaret de Holand. His paternal grandparents were Robert de Lumley , Sir Knight and Lucy de Thweng; his maternal grandparents were Robert IV 2nd de Holand , Sir and Elizabeth d' Avesnes , of Hainault. He had a brother named Ralph 1st\Last Baron de. He was the older of the two children.General Notes
ROBERT DE LUMLEY, son and heir by the 2nd wife, said-to be aged 11 at his father's death. Custody of his lands in the bishopric of Durham was granted to Ralph de Neville, Lord of Raby. On. 28 May 1374, when Robert de Lumley was 17, the death occurred of Thomas de Thweng, priest, survivor of the brothers of Lucy de Thweng; whereupon Robert, grandson of Lucy, was found to be one of the coheirs.
