Lucy de was born about 1295 in Kilton Castle, Cleveland, Yorkshire, England.  Lucy de's father was Marmaduke 1st Baron de Thweng , of Kilton and her mother was Isabel de Ros.  Her paternal grandparents were Marmaduke de Thweng , Lord of Kilton, MP, Sir and Lucy de Brus; her maternal grandparents were William II de Ros , of Ingmanthorpe, Sir and Eustache FitzHugh. She had two sisters named Alice de and Katherine de.  She was the second oldest of the three children.  She died before 1325.
