Thomas de Berkeley the Rich was born in 1292 in Berkeley, Gloucestershire.  Thomas de Berkeley the Rich's father was Sir Maurice de Berkeley Lord Berkeley and his mother was Eva la Zouche.  His paternal grandparents were Sir Thomas de Berkeley Lord Berkeley and Joan de Ferrers; his maternal grandparents were Eudes la Zouche and Millicent de Cantelou. He had a brother and two sisters, named Sir Maurice, Isabel and Millicent "Ela".  He died at the age of 69 on October 27th, 1361 in Berkeley, Gloucestershire.
