Sir William de Cantelou III Baron Abergavenny 
Sir William de Cantelou III was born about 1216 in Calne, Wiltshire or Aston Cantlow, Warwickshire. Sir William de Cantelou III's father was William de Cantelou II Lord Tre-Cantlow and his mother was Milicent de Gournay. His maternal grandmother was Juliana de Dammartin. He had three brothers and two sisters, named Thomas, John, Hugh, Agnes and daughter. He was the second oldest of the six children. He died on September 25th, 1254 in Calne, Wiltshire, England.General Notes

July 1255, daughter of William de Braose and Eva Marshall. William in turn was the son of William de Cantelou (Cauntelo), of Calne, Wilts, Lord of Tre-Cantlow (Cantleston), d. 22 Feb 1250/1 at Calne, m. to Melicent de Gurnay, d. 1260, daughter of Hugh V de Gournay and Juliana de Dammartin.

George's sisters were (1) Millicent d.1299 and (2) Joan. (1) was George's coheir and the son of (2) was his other coheir. If their were other daughters of William III and they were not his eventual heirs or heirs in their issue then they would have been illegitimate. I have no information on such progeny.
William m. Eve, dau. and co-heiress of William Braose, Lord of Brecknock and Abergavenny, and in her right became possessed of that honour. He d. in the flower of his youth, leaving issue, George, Milicent, and Joan.
