Jean de Brienne II was born about 1225 in Acre, Palestine.  Jean de Brienne II's father was John I de Brienne King of Jerusalem and his mother was Berengaria de LeUn de Castile.  His maternal grandparents were Alphonso IX the Slobberer de LeUn King of LeUn and Berengaria Alfonsez Queen of Castile. He had two brothers named Louis d' Acre de Brienne and Alphonse de Brienne. He had two half-sisters named Isabel II of Jerusalem and Marie.  He died in 1296.
