Richard of Cornwall was born in Winchester Castle, Hampshire.  Richard of Cornwall's father was John Lackland Plantagenet King of England and his mother was Isabella Taillefer de AngoulIme.  His paternal grandparents were Henry II Plantagenet de Anjou King of England and Eleanor de Aquitaine Dss de Aquitaine; his maternal grandparents were Aymer Taillefer de Valence Ct de AngoulIme and Alice de Courtenay. He had a brother and three sisters, named Henry III Plantagenet, Joan, Isabella and Eleanor. He had fifteen half-brothers and eight half-sisters, named Oliver, Richard FitzJohn of Dover, Richard, Geoffrey, Sir John FitzJohn, Odo (Eudo), Ivo, Henry, Osbert, Hugh de Lusignan, Guy de Lusignan, Geoffrey le Brun, Sir William de Valence, Aymer Ademar de Valence, Henri de la Marche, Isabella, Joanna, Matilda, Alice, Isabella, Marguerite, Agnes and Isabella.  He died on April 2nd, 1272 in Berkhamsetad Castle, Hertfordshire.
