Thomas de was born about 1325 in Berkeley, Gloucestershire, England. Thomas de's father was Thomas "the Rich" de BERKELEY BARON BERKELEY and his mother was Margaret de MORTIMER. His paternal grandparents were Maurice IV the magnificent BERKELEY LORD and Eve La ZOUCHE BARONESS BERKELEY; his maternal grandparents were Roger MORTIMER EARL OF MARCH and Joan De GENEVILLE COUNTESS OF MARCH. He had four brothers and a sister, named Roger de, Alphonsus de, Maurice de, John de and Joane de. He was the second oldest of the six children. He had four half-brothers named Thomas De, Maurice De, Edmond De and John De. He died in 1350.-
