James Maris

James was born on April 28th, 1711 in Springfield, Chester Co, PA. James' father was John Maris and his mother was Susanna Lewis. His paternal grandparents were George Maris and Alice Unknown; his maternal grandparents were James Lewis and Sibles Griffith. He had two brothers and eight sisters, named George, John, Sarah, Alice, Mary, Hannah, Susanna, Jane, Katharine and Elizabeth. He was the second youngest of the eleven children.
