George Maris

George was born on August 31st, 1694 in Springfield, Chester Co, PA. George's father was John Maris and his mother was Susanna Lewis. His paternal grandparents were George Maris and Alice Unknown; his maternal grandparents were James Lewis and Sibles Griffith. He had two brothers and eight sisters, named John, James, Sarah, Alice, Mary, Hannah, Susanna, Jane, Katharine and Elizabeth. He was the oldest of the eleven children.
