Ella Josephine was born on January 29th, 1887. Ella Josephine's father was Andrew Seawright Jackson Burton and her mother was Julia Margaret Virginia Dixon. Her paternal grandparents were James Davis Burton and Sarah Emaline Seawright. She had six brothers and four sisters, named Austin Ludie, Royal Clayton, Urbane Hermes, William Samuel, Jesse Caro, Claudius Albert, Hattie Raymond, Carrie Estel, Burkie Irene and Myrtle Davis. She was the sixth oldest of the eleven children.-
