Levi was born on July 6th, 1804 in Davidson County, North Carolina. Levi's father was Martin Trantham and his mother was Amelia Nicholson. His paternal grandparents were Martin Trantham and Ann Shattock; his maternal grandparents were William Nicholson and Lucy Gassaway. He had a brother named John. He had four half-brothers named Joseph C., John A., Daniel and Martin. He died at the age of 71 on May 31st, 1876 in Greene County, Missouri.General Notes
