William Thompson 
William was born in 1782 in Russell County, Virginia. William's father was Richard Thompson and his mother was Mildred Short. His paternal grandparents were John Thompson and Mary; his maternal grandparents were Thomas Short and Nancy. He had six brothers and four sisters, named John, Richard A., Samuel, Andrew, George, James, Isabelle, Rebecca, Nancy and Margaret. He was the fifth oldest of the eleven children. He died at the age of 48 in 1830 in Wayne County, Virginia.-
