Richard A. Thompson 
Richard A. was born in 1777 in Russell County, Virginia.1 Richard A.'s father was Richard Thompson and his mother was Mildred Short. His paternal grandparents were John Thompson and Mary; his maternal grandparents were Thomas Short and Nancy. He had six brothers and four sisters, named John, Samuel, William, Andrew, George, James, Isabelle, Rebecca, Nancy and Margaret. He was the third oldest of the eleven children. He died after 1850 in Ray County, Missouri.-
