William H was born about 1844 in Montgomery Co, al.  William H's father was Lovett Ryals and his mother was Mary Stower.  His paternal grandfather was Richardson Ryals; his maternal grandfather was Jackson Stowers. He had four brothers and two sisters, named Richard Bryant, Lovett, John Austin, Coat, Edy E and Mary H.  He was the oldest of the seven children.
