Edy E was born in 1846 in Montgomery Co, al.  Edy E's father was Lovett Ryals and her mother was Mary Stower.  Her paternal grandfather was Richardson Ryals; her maternal grandfather was Jackson Stowers. She had five brothers and a sister, named William H, Richard Bryant, Lovett, John Austin, Coat and Mary H.  She was the third oldest of the seven children.
