Samuel was born on April 1st, 1758 in Hampshire Co., Va. Samuel's father was Robert Pugh and his mother was Mary Edwards. His paternal grandparents were Evan Pugh and Mary. He had four brothers and seven sisters, named Jesse, Joseph, Robert, Mishal, Sarah, Mary, Lucretia, Elizabeth, Hannah, Eleanor and Amy. He was the second oldest of the twelve children. He died at the age of 79 on October 20th, 1837 in Wood Co., Va.-
