James Stewart 
James was born about 1411 in Stirling,Stirlingshire,Scotland. James' father was Duke Murdach Stewart Of Albany and his mother was Countess Isabel Lennox. His paternal grandparents were Duke Robert Stewart Of Albany and Countess Margaret Graham Of Menteith; his maternal grandparents were Earl Duncan Lennox and Helen Campbell. He was an only child. He died in 1451 in Ireland.1 General Notes
James (Sir), called "Seumas Mor" ("Big James"), 1st of Baldorran; only son of the Regent of Albany to escape the general liquidation of the family in 1425; avenged his family by burning Dumbarton at the head of a band of Highlanders, killing its Keeper (James I's uncle) then fleeing to England; settled Ireland, where he died 1451, having had by a Macdonald (with another illegitimate child Matilda, married Sir William Edmonstone of Duntreath).
