Gytha was born in 1058 in London,Middlesex,England.1   Gytha's father was King Harold II Godwinsson Of Saxon England and her mother was Duchess Edith (Swan Neck) Ealdgyth.  Her paternal grandparents were Earl Godwin De Wessex and Gytha Thorkillsdoittir; her maternal grandparents were Earl Alfgar III De Mercia and Princess Elgifu De Wessex Of Saxon England. She had five brothers and a sister, named Godwin, Edmund, Magnus, Ulf, Harold and Gunhilda.  She was the second youngest of the seven children. She had six half-brothers and a half-sister, named Griffith I, Urgeny, Idwal, Maredudd, Ithell, Owen and Nesta.  She died at the age of 49 on February 5th, 1107.1
