Martha Smith

Martha was born in 1839 in Washington County, Virginia.¹   Martha's father was Isaac Smith and her mother was Sarah.  Her paternal grandparents were Ephraim Smith and Alice Baker. She had six brothers and two sisters, named Edward, Baker, Alfred, Robert, Parris, George, Harriet and Nancy.  She was the second oldest of the nine children. She had two half-brothers and four half-sisters, named Smith, Isaac, Catherine, Alice, Minerva and Elizabeth.
