James G. Simmons

James G. was born in 1804 in ,Of Hawkins, Tennessee.¹   James G.'s father was James Simmons and his mother was Elizabeth Gillenwaters.  His maternal grandparents were Thomas Gillenwater and Martha. He had two brothers and five sisters, named John, Thomas, Mary Or Polly, Nancy, Elizabeth, Frances and Rachel.  He was the second youngest of the eight children.
