Elizabeth Simmons

Elizabeth was born in 1797 in ,Hawkins, Tennessee.¹   Elizabeth's father was James Simmons and her mother was Elizabeth Gillenwaters.  Her maternal grandparents were Thomas Gillenwater and Martha. She had three brothers and four sisters, named John, Thomas, James G., Mary Or Polly, Nancy, Frances and Rachel.  She was the fourth oldest of the eight children.
