Reuben Shipley 
Reuben was born in 1816 in Tennessee.1 Reuben's father was Joshua Shipley and his mother was Mary Strickler. His paternal grandparents were Eli Shipley and Elizabeth Kingston; his maternal grandparents were Samuel Strickler and Christina Burner. He had three brothers and five sisters, named Benjamin, Frederick B., Joshua, Rachel, Salina, Mary, Nancy Winifred and Christena E.. He was the second oldest of the nine children.-
