Millie was born on December 7th, 1879 in ,Wayne, Illinois.1 Millie's father was Benjamin Franklin Shehorn and her mother was Angeline Leister. Her paternal grandparents were George Daniel Shehorn and Emily Harrison James; her maternal grandparents were John Leister and Anna J. Rush. She had seven brothers and seven sisters, named Andrew Jackson, George W., Thomas Jefferson, Charles F., Francis M., James R., Benjamin Arthur, Emily Jane, Marinda A., Mary Ann, Elizabeth Frances, Amanda Matilda, Lillie and Melinda Agnes. She was the third youngest of the fifteen children.-
