William Scalf

William was born about 1795 in ,,North Carolina.¹   William's father was John Scalf and his mother was Edead Edeah Carlisle.  His paternal grandfather was Lewis Scalf. He had nine brothers and six sisters, named John, Britton, William, Berryman, Ira, Lee, Jesse, Peter, Robert, Mary, Nancy, Dicey, Lydia, Elizabeth and Cecelia.  He was the fourth oldest of the sixteen children.
