Jesse Scalf

Jesse was born about 1813 in Of, Hawkins, Tennessee.¹   Jesse's father was John Scalf and his mother was Edead Edeah Carlisle.  His paternal grandfather was Lewis Scalf. He had nine brothers and six sisters, named John, William, Britton, William, Berryman, Ira, Lee, Peter, Robert, Mary, Nancy, Dicey, Lydia, Elizabeth and Cecelia.  He was the fifth youngest of the sixteen children.
