Resident of Harrison County, Texas, but within a short period removed to
Grayson County, where he bought land and developed a farm ... In the fall
of 1865he sold his property in Grayson County and purchased a farm in
Denton County... He filled various offices in the [Cumberland
Presbyterian] church, was agood talker and exhorted and a most devoted
Christian gentleman. He also belonged to the Independent Order of Odd

The Northern Standard (Clarksville, Tex., 2 June 1847, p. 3,
col. 3) "... To the Sheriff of Bowie County ... You are hereby commanded
to summon David O. GEORGE andJesse C. PARR to be and personally appear
before the Honourable District Court ... for the county of Bowie ... on
the second Monday in September, 1847, then and there to answer the
petition of Ebenezer Frazier, who had filed the same ... charging and
alleging therein, that in or about April, 1844, he purchased from one
D.O. George two sorrel mares at the sum of $62.50 each ... One of which
was payable to said George, and the other to said Parr, at the instance
of the said
George who stated that one of the mares belonged to said Parr, that the
said George and Parr are both citizens of Missouri ... that one of the
said mares was unsound at the time of said sale and died in a short time
thereafter ... that her unsoundness was known to said George at the time
of said sale ... [also mentions some legal action in Cass County]"
