Bertha Jackson

Bertha was born in January 1883 in Washington Co., Missouri.¹ Bertha's father was Smith Jackson and her mother was Sarah Jane Mercer. Her paternal grandparents were Phillip Jackson and UNKNOWN Baker; her maternal grandparents were Isaac Mercer and Susan O. Hill. She had four brothers and three sisters, named George Chester, Walter J., Rush, Albert, Fanny, Jessie and Lizzie. She was the fourth youngest of the eight children. She had four half-brothers and six half-sisters, named Phillip, William, Austin Clark, John, Susan, Martha Ellen, Rachel, Sarah Catherine, Melissa and Mary.
