John Hughes

John was born in 1804 in Of Sullivan County, Tennessee.¹   John's father was Abner Hughes and his mother was Rebecca Woodward. He had three brothers and four sisters, named Samuel, James, Abner, Sarah, Rebecca, Elizabeth and Mary.  He was the third oldest of the eight children. He had four half-brothers and four half-sisters, named William, Joseph, Benjamin, Jeremiah, Maria, Louisa, Elizabeth and Lucinda.  He died at the age of 15 in 1819.¹
