Amos Lee Hollis 
Amos Lee was born on June 6th, 1923 in Melissa-Near Mckinney, Tx-Collin Co., Texas.1 Amos Lee's father was James Cornelious Hollis and his mother was Nancy Jane Maxwell. His paternal grandparents were S.C. Hollis and Full Blood Indian; his maternal grandparents were William Thomas Maxwell and Mary Susan Creasey. He had three brothers and two sisters, named Walter Richard Cornelius, Randell, Dee Raymond, Susan Rilla and Bertha Mae. He was the second youngest of the six children. He died at the age of 56 on October 17th, 1979 in Black Creek Lake, Wise County, Texas.1 General Notes

Was in charge of a 50 cal hvy machine gun section in Italy instructed 12
men in proper setting up loading and firing procedure was in charge of
section on guard duty and gave section report served in the MTO for 6

Had to have his appendix out the same time I was born at Darwin's
Hospital. Mother said he was getting checked out of Darwin's the same day
I was born. We lived on the north dairy at this time.
Buried at Preskitt Cemetary, rural Decatur. Off Hwy 51, right just past
High School.
