Richard Hawkins

Richard was born about 1749 in Virginia.¹   Richard's father was Samuel Hawkins and his mother was Anneka Jane Edwards.  His paternal grandfather was Joseph Hawkins; his maternal grandfather was Richard Edwards. He had two brothers and six sisters, named Joseph, Samuel, Sarah, Jane, Rebecca Sullivan, Susan, Mary and Caroline.  He was the third oldest of the nine children.
