Joseph Hawkins

Joseph was born about 1747 in Virginia.¹   Joseph's father was Samuel Hawkins and his mother was Anneka Jane Edwards.  His paternal grandfather was Joseph Hawkins; his maternal grandfather was Richard Edwards. He had two brothers and six sisters, named Richard, Samuel, Sarah, Jane, Rebecca Sullivan, Susan, Mary and Caroline.  He was the second oldest of the nine children.
