John Newton Davenport 
John Newton was born on July 12th, 1893 in Valdasta, Texas.1 John Newton's father was William John Davenport and his mother was Leona Combest. His paternal grandparents were Newton J. Davenport and Matilda Riggins; his maternal grandparents were John Wiley Combest and Susan E. Gosser. He had two brothers and a sister, named Theodore, Grover C. and Eva. He had four half-sisters named Manila, Malola, Mamie and Mabel. He died at the age of 28 on November 21st, 1921 in Valdasta, Texas (Stoney Point Cemetery).1 General Notes

Before his death John Newton became homesick and returned to Valdasta
from San Angelo, Texas, where hea had been in a sanitarium for
tuberculosis patients. At that time there was no cure. John Newton
Davenport is buried at Stoney Point Cemetery, Collin County, Texas.
