Sarah W. was born about 1855.1 Sarah W.'s father was James Marion Combest and her mother was George Ann Sloan. Her paternal grandparents were Austin Eden Combest and Margaret Combest; her maternal grandparents were James Sloan and Nancy A. King. She had eight brothers and three sisters, named Franklin Pierce, William Roe, Liberty Madison, Dewitt Clinton, George Marion, Christopher Columbus, Erasmus Grant, John Dowell, Luticia C., Mary Manderville and Flora Pierce\Paradise. She was the second oldest of the twelve children.1 -
