Liberty Madison Combest 
Liberty Madison was born on February 12th, 1862 in Phil, Casey County, Kentucky.1 Liberty Madison's father was James Marion Combest and his mother was George Ann Sloan. His paternal grandparents were Austin Eden Combest and Margaret Combest; his maternal grandparents were James Sloan and Nancy A. King. He had seven brothers and four sisters, named Franklin Pierce, William Roe, Dewitt Clinton, George Marion, Christopher Columbus, Erasmus Grant, John Dowell, Sarah W., Luticia C., Mary Manderville and Flora Pierce\Paradise. He was the sixth oldest of the twelve children. He died at the age of 50 on August 15th, 1912 in Dunnville, Kentucky.1 General Notes

The sixth child born to James Marion and Georgia Sloan Combest on 12
February, 1862, Phil, Casey County, Kentucky, was called "Boss." He
married Mattie Elizabeth Cundiff of Dunville, Kentucky on 10 October,
1887 in the home of her parents, George A. and Mary Luticia Harmon
Cundiff, in Casey County, Kentucky. Patrick L. Patterson performed the
ceremony.
He died 15 August, 1912 in Dunnville, Kentucky of an enlarged heart and
kidney disease. He was a farmer, merchant, and a hotel kepper in
Dunnville, where he resided. He was one of the founders, along with his
brother Franklin Pierce Combest, of the Hustonville and Green River
Telephone Company of Lincoln and Casey Counties in 1893.
He is buried with his wife at the Antioch Church Cemetery, Phil, Casey
County, Kentucky.
